Mildred E. Vichko (nee Horton), died peacefully on December 3rd. She celebrated her 92nd birthday on December 2nd, surrounded by her family. She was born in Bristol, PA to Oscar and Mary Horton, and raised in Burlington. She was the sister of the late Harry and Eugene Horton and Dorothy Korneff. She married Frank Vichko in 1942 in Ft. Bragg, NC where he was at boot camp during World War II. From that union of nearly 50 years, they raised their four children and upon retirement, they traveled many miles RV’ing across the USA and Canada. Mildred worked in the Burlington Twp. schools where she served lunches to hundreds of children in that district.

Mildred was a life member of the NJ PTA and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Scully-Bozarth VFW Post 1817. She was a member of the Burlington Twp. Senior Citizen’s Club, and a lifelong member of the Broad St. United Methodist Church in Burlington, where she served on the Board of Trustees. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women. During her retirement, she enjoyed playing bingo, doing crossword puzzles and tending to yardwork, especially the leaves in her backyard. She was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan and was selected the 2006 Phillies Phan of the year, and was rewarded a trip to spring training in Clearwater, FL.

She enjoyed watching her beloved Phillies win the World Series in October. She was predeceased by her husband Frank, and her son and daughter in law Ron and Leslie. She is survived by her children Bob and Beverly of Edgewater Park, Bill and Katie of Burlington and Kathy and Jay Kaczmarczyk of Clovis, NM. She was the loving grandmother to Michele and Joey Rodriguez, Kelly and Pete Maldonaldo, Kara and John DeFrias, Tim and Patti Vichko and Jared and Jennifer Vichko. Her great grandchildren were the apples of her eye, Nina, Tyler, Jordan, Alexis, Christian, Zoey and Edward. She was Nana Midge to John, Mary, John and Brian Matthews. She is also survived by Frances Horton, her sister-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.
