Mildred C. Smith, 92, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 9th at her daughter’s home in Buhl, Idaho.
Mildred was born October 26, 1923 to William and Belle Vassar in Caldwell, Idaho. She graduated from Weiser High School. As a young girl she loved the Bernard Ferry which was started by her Grandparents Ruben & Almeda Bernard.
She belonged to the St. Lukes Auxiliary, Daughter of the Nile, and was very active at the Cathedral of the Rockies in Boise. After her husband Wayne retired they enjoyed the freedom of travel and the company of many good friends. Their years at Calieante near Florence, AZ were especially enjoyable.
She is survived by her daughter Claudia Loomis of Buhl; her son and daughter in law Duane and Alberta Smith of Payette; her daughter Sharon Patterson of Boise; her daughter and son in law Paula and David Lirgg of Fruitland; her daughter Annette Smith of Riverton, Wyoming; 13 awesome grandchildren; 26 wonderful great grandchildren; 6 incredible great great grandchildren; and her dear niece and nephew Cindy Vassar and Cecil & Molly Vassar of Caldwell.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne B. Smith, her parents William and Belle Vassar, and her brother and sister in law Gifford and Charlene Vassar.
