MILDRED BERNICE (POST) BARRETT, 75, resident of Deming, New Mexico passed away Wednesday November 11, 2009 at the Casa De Oro Care Center in Las Cruces.
Mildred was born December 16, 1933 in Anadarko, Oklahoma to Ivy Floyd and Ruby (Goodwin) Post. She has been a resident of Deming most all her life other than about 18 years when the family resided in Washington State. She was of strong Christian faith and many were blessed by hearing her sing, something she dearly loved to do. Mildred had once worked as a waitress while in Washington State and locally she had managed McDonalds when it opened and had also worked at the Deming Cattle Sales.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Floyd Barrett, sons, Brad Barrett of Deming and Floyd E. Barrett of Detroit, MI; daughters, Ola Suggs and her husband Mike of Deming, Judy Lacy and her husband Jim of Alto, NM; stepmother, Lucille Haven of Roswell, NM; brother, Gerald Post of Enid, OK; half brothers, Ivy Post of Everett, WA, Jimmy Post of Visalia, CA; sister, Georgie Smith of Waukomis, OK; half sisters, Juanita Bradshaw of San Antonio, TX, Lisa Camronson of Dixon, CA; 11 grandchildren, Sarah and Victoria Barrett, Johanna Lanham, Michael Suggs, Susan Varela, Emily, Evan and Andy Barrett, and Jonathan, Bradley and Jessica Lacy; and 7 great grandchildren.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother, Junior Post, and 1 half sister, Irma Wilcox.
