Details: Mildred Audrey Shipley passed away on May 20, 2015 in her sleep.  She was 86 years old.  She was born on December 21, 1928 in Baltimore, MD to Clarence and Viola Theis.  She grew up in the Baltimore area and graduated from Clara Barton Vocational School.  She worked as a secretary until her marriage to Richard M. Shipley.  They lived in Harmons, MD for 28 years.  During that time she was a Girl Scout leader, Sunday school teacher, and a school bus driver for Anne Arundel County for 25 years.  She attended Calvary Chapel Church in Harmons, MD.  She retired with Richard in 1985 and moved to Bethany Beach, DE where they enjoyed their love for the water.  She attended the River Wesleyan Church in Frankfort, DE where she taught Sunday school.  Richard and Mildred were married for 53 years until his death in 2001. She was a devoted animal lover giving many stray dogs and cats a loving home. As her health started to decline, she went to live with her daughter and son-in-law in Front Royal, VA. In addition to her parents Mrs. Shipley is preceded in death by her son Glenn Shipley, Sr. and her brother William Theis. She is survived by her children Connie Webb of Front Royal, VA, Deborah Pope of Scottsdale, AZ, and Richard Shipley III of Baltimore, MD and her sister Jane Burdinski of Frankford DE.  She has a special grandson Glenn Shipley, Jr. whom she helped raise.  She also has 9 other grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
