Mikeal Brown, 68, of Bluffs, went home to his heavenly Father early Friday morning. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol; and daughters, Sherice Brown, and Michelle White; and one granddaughter, Stasia (Stephen) Rapoza. He is also survived by his mother, Viola, who he was blessed the last ten years to have in his home; one sister, Lymnett Hein; one brother, Danny Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mike served 21 years in the United States Navy, retiring in 1987, and went on to have a management company, managing hotels, restaurants, and new home construction for seven years. In 1994, he and Carol moved to Lubbock, TX to attend Sunset International Bible Institute. After graduation in 1996, they moved to Meredosia where he was the pulpit preacher at the Church of Christ for 8 years, and still continued on a volunteer basis until his death. He was a volunteer paramedic with the Meredosia Bluffs Rescue Squad for sixteen years. He went to work at the Meredosia Ameren plant, and two years later was promoted to supervisor at the Merrimac Plant in St. Louis. He retired from there in October 2010, and enjoyed yard work, gardening, and cooking. His greatest love was for the church he worked with for the last twenty years.
