Mike King, Anderson, Indiana, was passionate about many things including his career, the outdoors, family, faith, and serving others. He believed he and his two brothers had an idyllic childhood growing up in Greenfield, Indiana where he played baseball at the Boys Club, worked at the city swimming pool and graduated from Greenfield High School (’67). He earned a BS in management/economics from Indiana State University (’71), and devoted most of his career to management, marketing, and sales for several Fortune 500 companies including Carnation, J.C. Penny, and Lowes.

But Mike found his calling serving clients and their families at the Hopewell Center in Anderson, where he was a job coach, mentor, and friend to many. He retired from Hopewell last year. Mike’s love for the outdoors was fulfilled through years of service to the Fall Creek Conservation Club near Markleville, along with countless hours of fishing and boating.

His parents, Royce and Myrtle King, and brother, Mel, preceded him in death, but his brother Marty and sister-in-law Barbara live in Nashville, Tennessee. His niece Julie King Chhim, her husband Sam, and their children, Cameron, Sarah, Andrew, and Lucy-Grace, and her sister, Jennifer King, live in Jackson, Tennesee.
