Mieczyslaw Brzozowski, 84, of Newington, died on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 after a long battle with cancer. He was able to spend his last days in the comfort of his home with his wife, Irena by his side. Born in Poland to the late Anastazja and Franciszek Brzozowski, he immigrated to the U.S. in November of 1964. Mietek was employed by Atlantic Tool for 33 years until his retirement. In his days after retirement, you could find him packing up his RV and going camping to Hammonasset Beach State Park every summer. Mietek very much enjoyed being out in nature and was sure to catch a fish every time his hook hit the water. He had a wonderful garden as well and had an abundance of tomatoes and cucumbers every year. A man with an incredible sense of humor, he always had the perfect joke for any situation. Mietek’s zest for life will be remembered by all who knew and loved him. In addition to Irena, his beloved wife of 57 years, he is survived by his sisters: Teresa Tokarzewska, Irena Modzelewska and Marja Rejman and husband Ryszard; his in-laws: Antoni and Elzbieta Rutkowski and Eugenia and Stefan Jarosz and numerous nieces and nephews both in the U.S. and in Poland. Mietek was predeceased by his brother, Jerzy Brzozowski and his in-laws: Henryk Tokarzewski, Leszek Modzelewski and Jan and Janina Rutkowski.
