Michel Himrod, age 78, of Dakota City passed away on September 20, 2020 at his home. Michel Dion Himrod, the son of Dale and Dorothy (Palmer) Himrod, was born on May 29, 1942 in Iowa City, Iowa. He graduated from Humboldt High School in 1960. Following graduation, Mike attend Morningside College. On July 28, 1973, Mike was united in marriage with Diane Johnson in Rudd, Iowa. Mike was a farmer for many years and was also employed by W&H Coop until his retirement. He was a member of the Pork Producers and bowled on league. Mike loved his time spent fishing in Canada with his brother-in-law Dale. His daughter Sonia’s fruit fluff was his favorite. He enjoyed word search puzzle books and watching all his kids and grandkid’s sport activities. Left to cherish Mike’s memory are his wife of 47 years, Diane; children Shon (Colleen) Himrod and their children Austin Nordstrom, Tiffany Nordstrom, Breonna Himrod and Brittany Himrod of Bemidji, MN, Sabrina (Dave) Mayer and their daughter Madison Mayer, of Humboldt and Sonia Himrod and her children, Jaden Himrod, Jozlyn Himrod and Jett Wheeler of Dakota City; sister, Nancy (Tom) Strunk of Red Oak; brother-in-law, Daryle (Linda) Johnson and sister-in-laws, Marilyn Johnson, Joyce Johnson and Donna (Leon) Kral. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Dorothy Himrod; sister, Sharon Himrod and brother-in-laws, Dale (Maxine) Johnson, Delmar Johnson, Dean Johnson and Denny (Carol) Johnson.
