Michael R. Wood, age 55, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2006. Born in San Antonio on September 21, 1950, he was the son of Clarence Ray and Liladon Goodale Wood. A longtime resident of San Antonio, Michael was a Veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam War. He was especially proud of his time serving on the USS Hornet during the Apollo 12 retrieval. He married Yvonne “Cici” Avalon on August 26, 1996. Preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Wood is survived by his wife Cici; Daughters, Amada Wood and Jennifer Marple; Sons, Michael Ray Wood, II and Christopher Avalon; Grandchildren, Bethany Wood, Tiana Goldbaum, Kaydence Quezada, Domick Avalon, Chasity Avalon, and Iyana Avalon; Sisters, Patricia Blackmon and her husband, R. C. and Mary Wood.
