Michael R. Ashcraft, 62, of Springfield, IL, and formerly of Beardstown, IL, died Monday, June 28, 2010 at his residence.
He was born Jan. 22, 1948 in Moline, IL, the son of Herman “Hody” and Velma Spillers Ashcraft. He married Linda Lyons on Aug. 21, 1977 in Beardstown and she survives.
Mr. Ashcraft was employed by Springfield School District #186, as a special education teacher, teaching at various schools within the district, before retiring in 2005. He was a lifelong dog- lover, enjoyed computers and was an avid Notre Dame Football and Elvis fan.
