Michael “Mike” Richards
Mike Richards, 61, a resident of Gooding, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family.
Mike was born the second of four children of Rick and Becky Richards. He was born on February 20, 1951 in Sandpoint, Idaho. Mike attended school in Sandpoint through 1966. In May of 1966 the family moved to Gooding where his younger brother Jim was attending I.S.D.B.
In 1969, he graduated from Gooding High School. Mike went on to study business management at C.S.I. After his first year of college, Mike married Pam Wheeler on July 15, 1972. From this marriage, they had two children, Jenny and Chris.
After college, Mike worked for local grocery stores. In 1994, he went to work for the Gooding County Assessor’s Office where he was a residence and a commercial appraiser.
On July 9, 1999, Pam passed away suddenly. A few years later Mike met Janis Rees of Gooding. On May 16, 2002, they were married.
Mike is survived by his wife, Janis and her daughters, Chelsea Jibson and Taylor Rees; his daughter, Jenny (Darin) Hamann and granddaughters, Lisse and Kim Hamann, all of Gooding; his son, Chris Richards and granddaughters, Chrissy and Benett and grandson, Billy Richards, all of Gooding; his sisters, Diane Krainz of Kansas, and Pam Bryant of Twin Falls; and brother, Jim Richards of Spokane.
