Michael “Mike Edward Gillenwaters, 61, of 1410 Spruce Street, Martinsville, VA died Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville/Henry County. He was born on September 30, 1949 in Danville VA to Charles Edward Gillenwaters of Martinsville, VA and the late Elizabeth Ferguson Gillenwaters. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Gillenwaters and a niece, Angela Marie Gauldin. Mr. Gillenwaters attended Stone Memorial Christian Church and worked for Warren Trucking in office management and was a dispatcher. He served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of AMVETS. Surviving are his wife, Brenda Haskins Gillenwaters of the home; sisters and brothers-in-law, Carole E. and Charles Davis of Ridgeway, VA, Barbara G. and Jerry Minter of Ridgeway, VA, Kathy G. and Randy Gauldin of Martinsville, VA and Ruby G. Gilbert of Martinsville, VA and several nieces and nephews.
