Michael “Mike” C. Fontaine, 55 of Centralia, passed away Friday, June 22, 2012 in Central City.
Mr. Fontaine was born February 10, 1957 in Springfield, Massachusetts, son of Charles A. Fontaine and Mary G. (Paradis) Fontaine and step-mother, Earline Fontaine. He married Debbie (Castellari) Fontaine on June 16, 1984 at the 1st Christian Church in Centralia and she survives in Centralia. In addition to his wife, father and step-mother, he is survived by two daughters: Minga Downs and husband Devin of Centralia and Mackenzie Fontaine and fiancé Zack Frost of Centralia; 4 grandchildren: Addisyn Fontaine, Elin Downs, Carter Frost all of Centralia and one grandchild on the way; 2 brothers and 3 sisters: Chris A. Fontaine and wife Cheri of Virginia, Franchesca Haig and husband Jeff of Florida, Deborah Cooper and husband Jeff of Centralia, Alan Hutchison of Florida, and Angie Vale of Michigan; several nieces and nephews: Josh Phillips and Nick Cooper both of Centralia, A.J. Fontaine-Negron, Autumn Haig and Alex Haig all of Florida, Brad Spurgeon and Sarah Grace both of Virginia and Niki and Graham Newell both of Florida.
Mr. Fontaine was preceded in death by his mother. Mr. Fontaine worked for the Village of Central City as the Public Works Director. He was a member of the ARCA Racing Series for 15 years. Most of all he loved spending time with his grand-daughters and family. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR and spending time with his friends.
