Michael Harold Maguire of Newnan died Sunday, September 27 after a long illness. Mike was born in Atlanta, Georgia October 23, 1943.
He is survived by his mother Louise Hall Maguire of Thomaston, GA. and brothers Jack Hall Maguire and his wife Linda Maguire of Lexington, SC, and Stephen Duke Maguire and his wife Lisa Maguire of Thomaston, Ga., and their respective families.
He was preceded in death by his father Harold O. Maguire of Thomaston and his twin sons Don Maguire and Doug Maguire, both of Newnan. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southern University and the University of Miami. He worked for decades in the insurance business, most recently as a manager with the Cotton States where he retired in 2008.
Mike had a generous sense of humor, was known as a great encourager, possessed amazing fortitude, and was a devout Christian. He loved music, as a guitarist and as a fan. He also enjoyed sports and enjoyed spending time with family and friends at concerts and football games.
