EDEN- Mr. Michael Gerald Durham of Eden, NC, died October 16, 2019.
Mr. Durham was born in Hall County, Georgia, on May 19, 1946 to the late Dessie C. Durham and Bertha Smith Durham. He retired from American Tobacco Company in Durham, NC. Michael enjoyed working in the fields when he was able, and loved farm animals. He was a generous man and was always helping his neighbors. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Mr. Durham was preceded in death by his son, Gerald Wayne Durham of Durham, NC; sister, Juanita D. Stallings of South Boston, VA; brother, Melvin F. Durham of Sandstone, VA; and step-son, Johnny W. Spence of Eden, NC. Michael is survived by his wife, T. Estelle D. Durham; daughter, Lisa Mae Durham of Creedmoor, NC; step-son, Donald Ray Spence of Ridgeway, VA; grandchildren, Ashley Durham, Michelle Gardner of Creedmoor, NC, Michael Durham of Rolesville, NC, Heather Durham (Paul) of Rolesville, NC, and Angela Gardner of Creedmoor, NC; and 5 great-grandchildren.
m. on Monday, October 21, 2019 at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Entombment to follow.m. Honorary pallbearer will be Jimmy Julian.
