Michael Emery Keszei, 81, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away, Thursday, February 9, 2006, at Memorial Hospital of South Bend. Michael was born on March 25, 1924, in South Bend, to Vincent M. and Matilda B. (Horvath) Keszei. Mr. Keszei retired from the South Bend Fire Department as a Captain, on February 7, 1990, after 32 years of service.
On May, 18, 1957, Michael married Helen Klaybor who survives. Surviving with his wife are his sons, Michael Lee Keszei of Elkhart, Indiana, Joseph Alex Keszei of South Bend; grandchildren, Catherine, Cassandra, Michael and Brandon Keszei of Elkhart, Indiana; sisters, Irene Derdak of South Bend, Maryanne Bergh of Sun City West, Arizona; and brothers, Emery (Mary Ann) Keszei of South Bend, and Louis (Liz) Keszei of South Bend & Ft. Myers, Florida.
A sister, Yolanda Hanley, and brothers, Frank, Alex and Joseph Keszei all preceded him in death.
Mr. Keszei served in the Army 89th Airdrome Squadron during WWII in the China, Burma, India Theater.
