Michael Dewayne Duerson III was the son of Michael Dewayne Duerson, Jr., and
Antoinette Rae’Nelle Lanier. Michael was born on September 9, 2005, in Indianapolis,
Indiana. Michael was affectionately known as “MJ” by his mom, “Geezy” by his dad
and siblings, and “Mikey” by his friends.

Michael attended Saint Andrews, 42 Ignite Academy, and graduated from Crooked
Creek Elementary. Following graduation, Michael attended Northview Middle School
and Hamilton South Eastern, where he was promoted to high school. He continued his
education at Fisher’s High School and Ben Davis High School, where he excelled as an
honor student. Michael was employed at Burlington and was recently hired to begin
working at Dairy Queen.

Michael loved basketball, and he loved playing video games. Michael loved music. He
was funny, he was playful, he was a ladies man, he loved fashion, and My Baby was a
“Peacemaker.”

Michael always loved a challenge; he was very Creative, he was Brave, he was Strong,
he was a Leader. He would brighten and lighten the mood, a very well mannered child.
Michael was never scared of anything, except bugs.

Michael leaves to cherish his memory: his parents, mother, Antoinette Rae’Nelle
Lanier, and father, Michael Dewayne Duerson, Jr.; his grandparents, grandmother,
Bridget Lomax (Bobby Lomax), and grandfathers, Antonio Lanier (Cynthia Lanier)
and Michael Dewayne Duerson, Sr.; his siblings, sisters, Makhi Gaines, Harlem
Duerson, and Terry Dureson, and brothers, DeAnthony Stanford, Deniero Jones, and
(Auntie) Janel Lanier; and a host of other family members and friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his grandmother, Terri D. Starks; and his uncles,
Antonio R. Lanier II and Antwaan R. Lanier.
