Michael Allyn (Mike) Clements went to be with his Lord on January 26, 2017 ending his long battle with Type 1 diabetes. Mike was born on October 26, 1950, a 3rd generation resident of Colorado Springs. He was a graduate of Mitchell H.S. where he played basketball and studied engineering at UCCS and Pikes Peak Community College. He was the President of Triple C Commercial Contractors, Inc. local excavators since 1976. He is survived by his wife, Marcia, son Zachery of Seattle, daughter Constance of Colo. Spgs. and stepdaughters Deb of Columbus OH and Jennifer Allison and stepson Bradford Allison both of Colo. Spgs.
He battled his disease from teenage on. The family is forever grateful for the wonderful care he received from his many specialists over the years and from Optum Hospice for the past 7 months. Mike was a “gentle giant” at 6’9″ with an uncanny ability to discern what was “the right thing to do” and carry that out. It is hard to drive anywhere in town and not see a commercial building in the area that his company did excavating for. He was an avid classic car and Indy car entheusiast and was a Sprint car driver when younger. He drove one up the Peak. His ’57 Chevy restoration was just being completed. He loved the outdoors, boating, camping, fishing, jetskiing and the ranch out east on his grandparents homestead.
