Michael Anthony Torres, 47, went to be with God, December 5th 2016.
Michael was born in Austin Minnesota on August 27th 1969. His father was transferred to Rockford Illinois when Michael was 3 years old. He spent all of his childhood in Rockford where he attended Swan Hillman Elementary, Flynn Middle School and Boylan Catholic High School. Michael moved to Dallas Texas shortly after graduating high school to be near his sister Debbie. He started working at Lens Crafters and was in the optical field all these years. He was an optical Quality Manager for Walmart for the past 12 years.
Michael had medical issues and was hospitalized a couple times this year but on Friday December 3rd, we got the devastating news that there was nothing more the doctors could do and they gave him only 24 to 48 hours to live. Michael got his things in order and there were so many friends and family coming in and out of his intensive care room, constantly. He spent time with each person letting them know what they meant to him. However, with that short amount of time, Michael was not able to reach out to everyone he cared about. If you were a relative, friend or acquaintance of Mike, you were important to him. Mike was surrounded by much love during his last days and he will be dearly missed by many.
Michael loved going to concerts and sporting events, music and spending time with family and friends. He was the man with the tickets, everyone came to Mike if they needed Concert tickets or Mavs or Cowboy tickets. Mikes friends were also his extended family and they meant so much to him. He was truly a kind and generous person.
Michael leaves behind his Father Jose Torres and Sister Lorraine Torres of Rockford, Illinois, his Sister Debbie (Torres) Faucher, Brother-in-law Chris Faucher, Nephew Eric Faucher and Niece Jenna Faucher all of Sachse, TX and his dear friend Lorena Carbajal. He is predeceased by his Mother Joyce Torres and Brother Tracy Torres.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves a memory no one can steal. Michael will forever be in our hearts.
