Michael Aileen Murphy

Michael Aileen Murphy was born on Sept 12, 1945 in Ogden, UT and returned to her Heavenly Father on August 31, 2016.

She graduated from Ben Lomond High School and Weber State University. She retired from the IRS in 2002 after 35 years. After retirement she worked as the storyteller at the local Hastings store and as a teacher’s aide for the Ogden School District.

She was active in the LDS church in primary, choir, as a poet laureate and many other areas. She loved reading, camping, softball and lunch with the BLHS group. She was an avid Utah Jazz fan. Poetry was her passion, her poems and other writings were an inspiration to many.

She married William “Billy” Jones in 1965 and they had two sons. She remarried later and added two daughters to her family.

She is survived by her sons; Tom (Tammy) Jones and Chris Jones, daughters; Anita and Jennifer, sisters; Martha “Mickey” Richards and Mona “Patty” Leslie, grandchildren; Gage, Hunter, Dariyn and Tristan, and many cousins and nieces and nephews who called her “Aunt Scotty.”

She is preceded in death by her parents, Michael Albert Murphy and Anna Bachelor, and her sister Margaret “Maggie”.
