Mery Saldarriaga passed away at home, surrounded by her family, on January 24, 2021, at the age of 89. She was born in a small town near Bogota, Colombia on December 29, 1931 to Luis B. Rincon and Filomena Lancheros. Mery was the youngest of three children, and she is survived by her sister Yolanda Rincon, her children Angela Filler (Bob) and Alberto Saldana, and grandchildren Ryan (Taylor), Andrea and Sara Filler.
Mery first came to the United States with her husband, Alberto Saldarriaga, and their two young children in 1963 and lived in the San Francisco area.
She was a devoted and selfless mother that dedicated herself to the care of her children and grandchildren. A woman of deeply rooted Catholic faith, she leaves an undeniable legacy of love and service.
