Meril S. Mutchler, 78, of 1145 Chester Street, died Thursday, November 4, 2010 at home.
Meril’s wife, the former Ardella O. Marshall, died July 8, 1996.
Meril was an Army veteran and of Lutheran faith. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 7863, Duboistown and the Silver Sneakers at the Y.M.C.A. He enjoyed collecting stamps and postcards and going to flea markets.
Born Sept. 26, 1932 in Shamokin, he was the son of Edward L. and Elizabeth Mae Miller Mutchler.
Surviving are a son, Shawn L. of Harrisburg; daughters, Vickie A. (Thomas) Murray of Trout Run and Kathie J. (Robert) Nickles of South Williamsport; a brother John (Eleanor) Mutchler of Superior, AZ; grandchildren, Christopher (Erin) Vroman and Kassie, Kerrie and Kellie Nickles; great grandchildren, Octora Nickles and India and Monroe Vroman and numerous nieces and nephews.
Meril was predeceased by daughters, Denise M. Vroman and Gwendolyn J. Spangler; a son, Charles E. Betron III; a granddaughter, Keysha M. Nickles and a brother Lamar E. Mutchler.
