Melvin Garner “MG” Bowes, 78, of Statesville, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023, surrounded by his family after a lengthy illness.
MG was born on November 12, 1944, in Henderson, NC, and was the son of the late Silas Bowes and Christine Mosley Bowes. Before his illness, MG was an avid hunter and fishing and enjoyed trading guns.
In addition to his parents, MG was preceded in death by his grandson, Zachary Garner Bowes, sister, Barbara and brother, Donnie.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of fifty-seven years, Linda Meadows Bowes, son, Brian Keith Bowes (Michele), granddaughter, Beverly Elizabeth Bowes, brother, Ronnie and sisters, Jeanette and Patsy.
