Melvin Loren Huffman, age 87, moved to heaven April 24, 2022 after a brief battle with cancer.
Melvin was born August 15, 1934 in Canon City, Colorado to Loren and Minnie Huffman.
He grew up in various small towns in Colorado and graduated from Loveland High School in 1953. While attending High School, Mel was a member of the Colorado National Guard. He attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins for one year.
Mel and his beloved wife of 60 years, Rose, resided in the Colorado River Valley for 45 years.
He had a variety of careers throughout his life including mining and heavy equipment operation. He was known for his strong work ethic.

He enjoyed a variety of hobbies and activities which included bowling and golf. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout his life.
He was a devoted husband and father adored by his family. He was known for being onery, but loveable and fun. It was said of him that he could be charming to a fault.
Mel was preceded in death by his parents Minnie and Loren Huffman.
Mel is survived by his wife Rose, daughter Robin (Terry) Veldboom, sons Mark (Daisy) Huffman, Mitch (Jennifer) Huffman, sister Phyllis (Keith) Eagar, sister-in-law Sandra Knudsen. Also 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
