Melvin Leroy Shaul, 85, of Anderson, passed away April 4, 2017, at Community Hospital Anderson. He was born October 9, 1931, in Anderson.

Melvin graduated from Anderson High School in 1949 and retired from Delco Remy in 1991 after 41.5 years of service. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, where he was chairman of Missions and a Sunday School teacher. He was also a former member of Elks, and Summitville Lions and was an avid fisherman.

Melvin is survived by his loving spouse of 66 years, Phyllis J. (Lay) Shaul; children, Vickie D. (Larry) Alexander and Lee (Cindy) Shaul, Jr., son-in-law, Gary Webb; brother, Jerry (Nancy) Shaul; grandchildren, Andrew Shaul, Amy (Joe) Retherford, Audrey (Felix) Alcala, Amber (James) Turner, Alyssa (Chad) Neal, Adam Alexander and Jeremy (Kendra) Alexander, 26 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Marie Webb; parents: Russell and Mary Shaul; siblings, Duane Shaul, Arlene Faulkenberg, Marilyn Denman, and Kenneth Shaul.
