Melvin L. Plym, 91, of Ladd passed away at 5:26 AM on July 28, 2016 in Illinois Veteran’s Home at La Salle with his wife Char at his side.
Mr. Plym was born in Ladd on February 12, 1925 to George Edward and Emily (Roe) Plym. He served in the US Navy from 1942-1946 where he was a Seaman First Class in the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters. Mr. Plym was a truck driver for Tobler’s Trucking for 36 years.
He is survived by his wife Charlene of Ladd; one daughter Marilyn (Gary) Henry of Spicewood, TX; one son Gregory (Becky) Plym of Seatonville; five grandchildren Zachary & Lucas Plym, Mark & Randy Batten, and Christine McCully; eleven great grandchildren; and one brother Donald (Jean) Plym of St. Augustine, FL.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Stella, one brother George Plym, and one sister Lucille Hassler.
