Melvin George Kerbs, 84, of Great Falls, left this earth on September 17, 2015 to join his Heavenly Father in heaven.

Born October 24, 1930 in Rexburg, Idaho to George and Bertha Kerbs, Mel moved with his family to Great Falls where he went on to graduate from Great Falls High School. He was a member of the U.S. Army Signal Corp and became a First Lieutenant. In 1955, he married Evelyn Harney in Helena, MT.

Mel was a Machinist for the Anaconda Company for many years. He was a very active man, enjoying bowling, golfing, fishing and hunting. He was a Deacon in the Baptist Church, and his family wanted to share his favorite Bible verse: I Corinthians 15:1 thru 4:

“Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand,

by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain.

For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,

and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.”

Mel is survived by his loving wife Evelyn of Great Falls; daughter, Sue (Paul Jr.) Grunenwald of Great Falls; son Randy Kerbs of Carter, MT; sister, Melvina West of Great Falls; grandchildren, Michael Ramon Kerbs of Idaho, Sharon Kerbs of Medford, Oregon, Matthew Grunenwald of Great Falls, Zachary Kerbs and Christopher Kerbs of Great Falls; and six great-grandchildren.

Mel was preceded in death by his son, Michael Kerbs.
