Melvin married the love of his life, Barbara (Rose) Whitney and they have been together for 38yrs., and she survives. Mr. Whitney had worked as a self employed Certified Chevrolet Mechanic working last in 1985 prior to his disability. Mr.
Besides his wife Barbara, he is survived by a son, Rodney Whitney (fiance’- Chryl Hughes), Muncie; six grandchildren, Nickolas Whitney ,Emily and Lorissa Bennett all of Muncie, Kym, Krysta and Robert Eriks Jr., all of Rochester; one great granddaughter, Madyson Eriks, Rochester; two half brothers, Robert Whitney, and Earl Whitney, both of Muncie; two sisters, Diane Capps (husband-Doug), Coolidge, Texas and Ruth Albadeh (husband-Mahyoub), Fremont;many nieces and nephews; former daughter-in-law, Angie Young, Muncie; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
