He was a lifelong resident of Huntsville, US Navy veteran, retired US Postal Carrier of 37 years, and a member of Jackson Way Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife Anita Gray Murphree; grandson Ronald Morgan Meadows; parents, William Doak Murphree and Elizabeth McBride; brothers William Doak Murphree, Jr., and Maurice Wayne Murphree. He is survived by one sister Jane Warren of Bessemer, AL. and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Murphree is also survived by two daughters, Kathy Bonner (O.V.) and Patrice Luckett; grandsons Brian Stafford (Holly), Jason Bonner, and Preston Bonner (Jennifer); great grandchildren Sloan and Sydney Stafford, Trenton Bonner (Libby), Morgan James (Braden), and Logan Bonner; and one great-great grandchild, Blakely Gail Bonner.
