Melody R. Ward , age 75 years, of Plymouth, died at her home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, November 9, 2021. She was the wife of Robert E. Ward Sr., and the daughter of the late Edward and Irene (Poole) Gayer. Born in Boston of October 15, 1946, Melody was a graduate of Charlestown High School. She worked over twenty years at Plymouth and Carver Schools as a librarian’s aid until her retirement. Later she worked for thirteen years at Macy’s department store as a sales associate in the Coach department. Besides babysitting and attending her grandchildren’s events, Melody enjoyed shopping and traveling, cherishing her yearly visits to Aruba and Myrtle Beach with her husband, Robert. They would also enjoy visits out to Napa Valley to visit her family. Spending time at the beach and socializing were enjoyable for Melody as well as being with her loving dogs, Sully, Ruby and Jake. In addition to her loving husband Robert, she will be sadly missed by her children, Robert Ward Jr. and his wife Christine of Kingston, Heather Ward of Plymouth & Brian Ward and his wife Sharon Petrillo of Melrose. She was the grandmother of Katheryn, Julia, Caroline, Brandon and Blake Ward, and the sister of Jeanine Gayer of Wakefield, Michelle Nigro and her husband Robert of Portsmouth, RI and Robert O’Halloran and his husband Bill Boediker of Napa Valley, CA.
