She was united in marriage to Harry A. Leng in August of 1954. He preceded her in death in May of 2007. Melicent was a lifelong active member of the Galesburg community. She and Harry owned and operated Leng’s Hardware store for 35 years.
Surviving Melicent are her children; Richard (Eloise) Leng, Mark (Sherri) Leng, Karen (Jeff) LaFave and Kathleen (Derrek) Kim; as well as 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Neva Bishop and Violet Palladino; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Melicent in death was her brother, Warren Wayne.
