Newark – Melanie Lynn Santiago, 17 died suddenly Tuesday, December 31, 2002 in the ER of Via Health of Wayne-Newark Campus as a result of an automobile accident.
Family and friends may call today, Thursday, January 2, 2003 from 3-5 and 7-9 at the Norman L.
Melanie was born the daughter of Roberto and Kym Muller Santiago on May 23, 1985 in Newark, NY. She was a junior at Newark High School and had worked for Wegmans in Newark for nearly 3 years. Melanie loved being around people and making them laugh. She enjoyed driving her car and listening to music.
Melanie will be missed by her parents Roberto and Kym Santiago; brothers David and Anthony Santiago; half brother Edwin (Jackie) Santiago of PR; sister Angelique Santiago; paternal grandfather Jesus Santiago of PR; maternal grandmother Barbara Muller and her friend Hector Hernendez; many aunts, uncles and cousins including a great, great uncle Ralph (Gertrude) Bardo; a very special friend Jessica Scott.
Melanie was predeceased by her paternal grandmother Victoria Santiago in August of 2002.
