McKenzie Amber Hoad

Canandaigua: It is with great sadness that the family of McKenzie Amber Hoad of Canandaigua, NY announces her passing at Highland Hospital Rochester, NY after a long and courageous battle with Cystic Fibrosis on Tuesday, March 27th 2018 at the age of 20 years, with her loving family by her side. McKenzie was born on December 5th 1997 at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY.

McKenzie will be forever remembered by her loving parents Howard and Mary Jane Hoad and her loving and caring sister, Karissa Kimberly Weber of GA. McKenzie is also survived by her father’s loving family Helen (Bob) White, Hazel (Howard) William’s, Cousin Stephanie Webb, Cousin Donald Thomas Hoad from MD, and many other Cousins. McKenzie is also survived and forever will be loved and missed by her mother’s family; Vickie (Scott) Wohlschlegel of Honeoye, NY, Kim M Weber of Ogden, Utah, and Nancy (Carl) Steenburn of Dewittville, NY and Cousins Jennifer Knobel and Angela Wohlschlegel. McKenzie will also be missed by her close friends that she hung out with and who also visited her in the hospital, including Shauna Cooper a family friend who was like a sister.

McKenzie loved to go bowling with her dad. This was a special bond shared with her father since she was a little girl. Her dad often called her his “Little Helper”. She also enjoyed hearing from Cousin Donald and her dad about their adventures growing up.

McKenzie and her mom spent time baking and cooking together. They enjoyed driving around; talking and her mom would tell stories about her life, shopping, taking pictures, laughing, and just spending quality time together. They would get breakfast and go to the pier in Canandaigua and watch the ducks. McKenzie had a unique sense of style so her mom would color her hair pink, red, and purple whatever her mood would allow.

McKenzie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends; traveling (with her sister Karissa and their close friend Shauna Cooper), and she had a passion and love for all animals. McKenzie was always rescuing any animal that was in need and because of that love for animals she has many pets of her own. Having said that, McKenzie will also be missed by her loving cats; Kimberly Ann, Baby Boy, Nugget, and Pickle’s and her many other reptiles, tarantula, and rabbit. McKenzie developed a deep interest in photography; she would spend her time taking photos of Canandaigua Lake and the nature around her. McKenzie’s personality was such that she would change a person’s worst day, into a feel better day.
