Mayetta (Gus) Pearl O’Brien Jones, 69, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010 at the home of her eldest daughter, Denise. Mayetta was born in Salinas, Monterey, Calif., on Sept. 17, 1941 to the late Mayo and Helen (Lashley) O’Brien.

Ms. Jones graduated high school at Leavenworth High, Kansas, in 1959. She also attended airline steward’s school in Kansas City, Mo. Ms. Jones was an office manager for most of her career. She was known for her infectious smile and her outgoingness. Her beauty and strength were with her till her final day. She was
very artistic and known for her wonderful crafts that she created. From painting to jewelry, to hand sewn items, they all had her special touch and personality.

Ms. Jones enjoyed her monthly bunko nights with her friends and also loved attending musicals and plays. She loved making handmade blankets, Halloween
costumes, and painted toy chests for her grandchildren.

Ms. Jones is survived by her children, Denise Dominquez (Raul) of South Carolina, Laurie DiGirolamo (Erasmo) of Simi Valley, Debbie Wright of Napa,
and Michael Chiamparino of Simi Valley. She is also survived by her sister, Sharon O’Brien of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Mayetta was blessed with seven grandchildren, SSgt. Kenneth Keith, Jr., Ashley Haskill, Brittney
Abel, Pvt. Shane DiGirolamo, Tyler Chiamparino, Nolan and Jaden Wright. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Tiegan and Korbyn Keith, Emma Haskill; and two nieces and two nephews.

Mayetta was preceded in death by her parents, Mayo and Helen O’Brien; her brothers, Paul and Michael O’Brien; and one niece, Charla Loboda.
