Mrs. May Sue Reese Glasco, 86, of Virginia Beach, Virginia passed away on December30, 2023. She was the daughter of the late, Thomas Emmett Reese and Blanche Short Reese.She is also predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, Gene Glasco, Sr.; son,Emmett Dewrel Glasco; sister, Anne Reese Carson, andbrother, Thomas Edwin Reese.She is survived by her son, Gene Glasco, Jr. and wife, Susan; daughter, Jennifer Sue Glasco Flannagan and husband, Bill;grandchildren, Elizabeth and Hugh Flannagan and Gabby and Reese Glasco. May Sue hasmany beloved nieces, nephews and cousins that she cherished and kept in touch with for many years.May Sue graduated from Wakefield High School in 1955 and graduated from the Collegeof William and Mary in 1959 where she was a member and soloist in the William and MaryChoir, and a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority and Omicron Delta Music Fraternity. Sheserved for a year as Director of the Children’s Choir at the Williamsburg Baptist Church while astudent at William and Mary.She taught elementary school music in the Virginia Beach Public Schools from 1959-1967 and then served as an elementary school secretary from 1987 to 2002 at Ocean LakesElementary. She was active in PTA serving as President of the Virginia Beach Council of PTAs,District Director for the Tidewater District, Regional Vice President of the Tidewater Regionand President of the State Virginia PTA from 1999-2001. She also served as VA PTA Presidenton the National PTA Board of Directors during those years and later as a National PTA Mentor to the Wyoming PTA from 2003-2005. She was most proud of being the founder of theWakefield Woman’s Club and served as its President for the first two years of the club’sexistence.
