Maxine M Gray, age 92, of Gulf Breeze passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2015. She was born in Colfax, Iowa to Carl and Pearl Staker, she attended grade school and high school in Mingo, Iowa and continued with 2 years of higher education at the University of Iowa, where she met and married Richard L Gray in 1941. They lived in Burlington, Iowa for 2 years and then to Buffalo, New York for 14 years before moving to Gulf Breeze in 1958. She was the office manager for the Gulf Breeze Water Company where she helped newcomers settle into a friendly community. Maxine was an Iowa farm girl who developed a love for music which she followed her entire life. She was constantly using her music talents as well as raising her family. She and her family traveled extensively over the United States making friends wherever they went.
