Maxine C. (Bateman) Benford, 91, passed away, Tuesday April 21, 2015 in her home in New Whiteland with her children at her side. Maxine was a loving, patient mother to her three children, and an adventurous, fun Nana to her six grandchildren. She and her husband Dan traveled extensively and she made friends everywhere she went. After Dan’s retirement, they divided their time between Ellenton, Florida and their lake cottage in Prince’s Lakes.
Her laughter and positive outlook will be a lasting memory for her many friends. Maxine was more than a homemaker, she was an artist, seamstress, crafter, helper and ally. She enjoyed dancing, hosting parties and playing cards with her friends.
Survivors include three children, Stephen (Valerie) Benford of Florida,Paula (Jerry) Yoder of Auburn and Patricia (Timothy) Butler of New Whiteland; brother, Jack (Ginny) Bateman of Ohio; six grandchildren, Paul M. and Amy N. Benford, Cynthia Yoder, Tamara (Daniel) Eisenberg, Leah C. and Laura L. Butler and a great-grandchild, Brian Kitch.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Benford, parents, Arthur L. and Stella V. (Davis) Bateman and two sisters, Mabel Magly and Marion Meager.
