Max Alva Riggs, 82, of Pendleton, Indiana, passed away Monday, December 18, 2017 in his home with his youngest daughter at his side. He was covered in love from all his family and friends as he left the earthly world to join his beloved wife, Bonnie Jean, in heaven.

Max (known by many as Pete) was born on March 30, 1935 in Henry County, Indiana. He graduated from Cadiz High School, and went on to marry Bonnie Jean Riggs on June 15, 1957. He was an extremely hard working man who retired from the Delco Remy Division of General Motors after working there for over 40 years. He was a proud member of the UAW.

Max loved his family with every ounce of his being and was completely devoted to them. He loved nothing more than just being surrounded by them and spending time with his grandbabies who brought him so much joy. He was a friend to everyone who crossed his path, and he loved to talk to and meet new people.

Max also had a passion for NASCAR Racing that he shared with many members of his family. Max leaves many treasured memories with his children, Monte (Laura) Riggs of Anderson, IN, Belinda (Gregg) Morrow of Delphi, IN, and Jennifer (Jacob) Freehling of Barrington, IL; Grandchildren: Barrett (Megan) Riggs, Brandon Morrow, Chase (Kaylee) Morrow, Evan Freehling, Kirby (Kate) Hammel, Kasey (Michael) Gatto, Jasmine (Josh) Escalante, Samantha Freehling, Sophia Freehling; Great Grandchildren: Braxton Morrow, Payton Morrow, Izabella Riggs, C.J. Morrow, Ember Hammel, Giana Gatto, Jace Escalante, Joaquin Escalante, and Jonah Escalante.

Max was also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie Jean Riggs of 60 years, his mother, Addie Riggs, his father, Alva Riggs, two brothers Robert Lee Riggs, Herman Joe Riggs, and a sister, Barbara Ann Hundley.
