Mrs. Mavis Kennedy Payne, age 91, of a brief time in Peachtree City and formerly, Columbus, Georgia, completed her earthly journey on February 10, 2018 at the Southland Health and Rehabilitation, Peachtree City, Georgia. A native of Dale County, Alabama, she was born June 14, 1926 and was the daughter of the late Charles Darvel Kennedy and Mable Flowers Tice Kennedy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lewie Frank Payne, a son, Lewie Frank Payne, Jr, and son-in-law Eugene Jones.
She is survived by her daughters Glenda P. Jones, Charlynn P. Prohaska (and husband Dr. Greg Prohaska) and Donna P. Harris (and husband Phillip). There are eight grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and three great, great grandchildren. Mavis was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is a member of the Morningside Baptist Church, Columbus, GA, and spent the majority of her life as a dressmaker.
