Maurice T. DeForge, 90, of Bristol, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 21, 2008, at Bristol Hospital, surrounded by family and friends.

He was born in St. Johnsbury, VT on February 13, 1918, son of the late George and Aurea DeForge.  He was also predeceased by his first wife, Harriett (Fleming) DeForge, second wife, Mary (Garber) Kearney DeForge, and his sister Iris Laurendeau.  He attended local schools and graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy where he lettered in football, basketball, baseball and hockey.  He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II.  He lived in Bristol all of his adult life and retired after 41 years from Associated Spring Barnes Group.  He was a member of St.

He is survived by his sons, Thomas J. DeForge and his wife, Gloria of Burlington, and Donald R. DeForge and his wife, Sharon of Forestville; his daughters, Nancy A Shomo and her husband, Rich of Rhinebeck, NY and Dianne M. Gronlund of Lake Placid, NY; his grandchildren, Donald R. DeForge, Jr., James T. DeForge, Jennifer L. Dess, Daniel A. DeForge, John Ryan Divenere, Adam Divenere, Elizabeth Gronlund, and William Gronlund; his great-grandchildren, Sterling Holt, Taylor and Kyle DeForge, Alyssa and Julia Dess; several nieces and nephews.
