Maurice Leroy Kyle, 83, passed away Tuesday May 20, 2014 in Franklin. He was a resident of Franklin.Maurice was born May 14,1931 in Bartholomew county to Roy and Hattie (Russell) Kyle. He married Susan Carter on July 15, 1956 in Edinburgh; they were married for 57 years.

He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

He was owner of Kyle Machine and Tool Inc. in Amity for 36 years.  Maurice was a huge antique car enthusiast. He was the founder of the Whiteriver Valley Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America. He was a member of the Central Indiana chapter of the Buick Club of America and Old Union Christian Church. He enjoyed chauffeuring brides and grooms on their wedding day, being in parades and even driving his antique cars on the Indy 500 track. He loved America, serving in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He enjoyed spending time with his family, car shows, bowling, riding bikes, and picnics. Maurice was skilled at raising rabbits, during the depression years and later he raised rabbits to help feed families. Maurice also enjoyed farming and being a farmer for over 49years. He enjoyed helping people, never knowing a stranger. Maurice was a quiet man with a huge heart!

Survivors include his wife, Susan Kyle of Franklin, four children, Kevin Kyle of Edinburgh, Doug (Beth) Kyle and Kelly Sherrill both of Franklin and Judy Kyle of Amity, four sisters, Dorthy Ritchison and Carol (Owen) Wilson both of Westport and Reba (John) Manion and Mary (Lewis) Tenney both of Columbus, eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Forrest Kyle and Allen Dale Kyle and three sisters, Margaret Steep, Ruth Whitehorn and Nell Boswell.
