Maurice Leroy Combs of Plymouth, passed away at home on February 6, 2021 surrounded by his loving family at the age of sixty-eight. He was the beloved husband of Cathaleen (Robinson) Combs; loving father of Crystal Cote and her husband Sean of Plymouth, David Combs and his wife Tracy of Virginia, and Sean Tynes of Texas; cherished grandfather of Gabriel, Jaiden, Kyleigh and Seth Combs, Colin Cote, Sean Jr., Savanah and Seth Tynes. He leaves his mother, Myrtle Redean (Van Winkle) Combs of Arizona and was predeceased by his father, Sylvester Maurice Combs, Jr. Maurice was the brother of Terrance Combs and his late wife Sylvia Combs of Nevada, his sister the late Catherine Combs-LaFleur, and several cousins. Maurice was born on September 4, 1952 in Denver Colorado. He graduated from Princess Ann High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He enlisted in the United States Navy and honorably served our country for twenty-five years. He was a Command Master Chief and was awarded the Naval Reserve Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Achievement Medal (2), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Navy “E” Ribbon, National Defense Service Ribbon (2), Navy Commendation Medal (3), and Armed Forces Reserve Medal. Upon his honorable discharge from active duty, he was transferred to the United States Naval Reserves until his retirement. Maurice enjoyed working with computers, watching movies, doing puzzles, coloring, and building Legos. He was a sports fan and was especially fond of the “Pats”. He could often be found in his garden, growing tomatoes and tending to his roses. He loved his family and spending time with them. He will be dearly missed.
