Maurice H. Paterik, age 84, of Merrillville, IN formerly of South Holland, IL, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 28, 2008.
He was born July 8, 1924 in Chicago, the son of the late Cornelis and Gertrude (nee Van Swol) Paterik. He married Miriam L. York in Charleston, SC on May 29, 1946. He is survived by his children: David (Gail) of Detroit, MI; Rev. Roy (Rev. Marie) of Warsaw, IL; James (Anne) of South Holland; Thomas (Luanne) of Kansas City, MO; Carl (Joyce) of Mesa, AZ; Jean and Mary of Highland; Judith (Rick) Aardsma of Crown Point, IN and Richard (Becky) of Dallas, TX and daughter-in-law, Karen Tackett of Traverse City, MI. Sixteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive as well as his sister, Ruth Parten of Herrin, IL.
He was preceded in death by his wife Miriam, his parents, son John, infant granddaughter Kristin and brother Raymond.
