Maurice Clement York, husband to Gwendoline Terrell York for 54 years, died of a broken heart just four days after her passing, on January 20, 2011, at his home in Pipe Creek, Texas. He was born in Aransas Pass, Texas; he attended Aransas Pass High School and Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas, where he married Gwendoline M. Terrell on September 1, 1956. They lived in Corpus Christi, San Antonio, and Boerne, before finally settling in Pipe Creek in 1975. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Edward Adam Burke, his grandmother, Ida Josephine Burke, and his wife, Gwen. He is survived by his children, Christopher York and his wife Sue Seely York of Spring Branch, Texas; Kerry York Currie and her husband Major Kent Currie of San Antonio, Texas; and his grandchildren, Spencer Currie and Lila and Reese York. A Rosary was recited for Maurice and Gwen on Thursday, January 20, 2011, at 7:00 p.m.
