Maureen “Mo” Kotar, 95, of Oglesby died on Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017 at Heritage Health in Mendota. Mrs. Kotar was born on May 14, 1922 in Cardiff, Wales, to Percival Sinclare and Kathleen (Lyons) Hopgood. She was educated in Wales, and served in the British Army during WWII.
She married Louis Kotar on Oct. 7, 1944 at St. Peter’s Church in Cardiff, Wales. She became a U. S. Citizen in January of 1951. She was a member of Holy Family Church, and the British War Bride’s Club. She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn (William) Entrican, of LaSalle, 2 grandsons, Damian Entrican of San Marcos, TX, and William (Jennifer) Entrican of Oglesby, and 3 great-grandchildren, Evan, Avery, and Quinn Entrican. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1986, one daughter, Maureen Pohar, and one brother, Arthur Hopgood.
