Maudine Cook Howard entered into rest on Thursday morning, September 16, 2021, in Crestview, Florida at the age of 95. Maudine was born in Mossy Head, Walton County, Florida on May 19, 1926 to Henry Allen Cook and Mercades Madolin Langston Cook. Maudine attended Escambia Farms School where she was a member of their winning girls basketball team and where she graduated as Valedictorian. She married Wilson Pershing Howard on May 6, 1943, and traveled with him to Hartford, Connecticut where he was training for deployment to England, then Germany during World War II. While he was deployed overseas, Maudine moved back to Florida where she worked in the Panama City Shipyard as a welder of Liberty Ships. This job was a source of great pride all her life.
