She was born December 4, 1912 in Giles County, Tennessee, and resided in Anderson since 1943. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Sargent was a charter member of Columbus Avenue Church of the Nazarene, now Southdale Church of the Nazarene. She is survived by her children, Frances Marie Yandell, Martha Faye Donald Minnear, Ronald W. Sargent companion Kathy Mahoney and Dean W. Sargent companion Patty Ash; grandchildren, Scott Sargent, Michelle Green, Ronald Sargent Jr., Amy Smith, Kent Duncan, Michael Duncan, Tammy Daugherty, Jennifer Birdwell, Darin Minnear, Steven Yandell, Gregory Yandell, Kevin Yandell, Jeff Yandell, Kristi Newlin and Bradley Yandell; 29 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Ora Wesley Sargent; parents, Albert Houston & Cora M. Carpenter of Columbia, Tennessee; daughter, Nancy L. Duncan-Lund; sisters, Grace Gilliam, Annie Ruth Duncan-Dixon, Twin Sister Claudie Lane, Sara Mildred Sargent, Ella Carpenter and Dorothy Smith; brothers, George Carpenter and Mahlon Carpenter and son-in-law, Donald Yandell.
