Heaven has never looked as beautiful as it does right now. Matthew J. Seipp, 33, of O’Fallon, IL left this world on May 6, 2013, and in doing so, saved the lives of others through organ donation. Matt’s zest for life and endless work ethic were undeniable. Owner of Seipp Lawn Care, one of O’Fallon’s most respected and successful small businesses, Matt was known and loved by the entire community. Whether he was on a client’s lawn, on a baseball field, or at OTHS, Matt’s compassion, humor, and smile were bountiful. Despite working tirelessly, the family was his number one priority. Matt truly loved and admired his mom (Gerri), dad (Dennis), and sister (Michelle) for all that they did to support him as he battled and fully recovered from a brain injury at age ten, played and coached countless baseball games, and later, as he started and grew the lawn care business. In 2008, Matt married Jodie Bell, who was his perfect match in every way. Their marriage was flawless and full of laughter and pure, true love.

In July 2012, Matt became a father to a precious son, Andrew Thomas. Baby Drew has been blessed with his father’s blond hair, large grin, and genuine personality. Matt was idolized by his three nephews, Landon Dippel, Robert Mize, and Johnny Mize. He was the son his father-in-law Tom Bell never had, and their love for one another was boundless. In-laws Craig Dippel, Stacie, and Robbie Mize, Sharon and Jerry Gaskill, and Tom and Ellen Bell will miss him dearly. Countless friends and family members were loved by Matt. Each day, Matt called various friends religiously at certain times, and those phone calls were the highlight of everyone’s days. Regardless of the day or time, Matt could be found with a Pepsi, Skoal, and Chapstick. When not working, Matt’s favorite days were spent boating and water skiing with family and friends. There was nothing he loved to do more than ski in a smooth cove at dusk. Matt’s legacy will live on through his infant son, Drew, and our wish is that the community will help this little boy to grow up knowing what a wonderful man his father was by sharing stories with Drew about his dad anytime we run into each other around town.
