Matthew Leo Branstetter, 54, of Boerne, Texas was called home to heaven on September 2, 2021.
Matthew was born on June 14, 1967 in Dermott, Arkansas to Theodore Oliver Branstetter and Mary Ann Branstetter. He attended St. Michael’s Catholic School and graduated from West Memphis High School. He was a banker in Memphis, Tennessee and later relocated to Boerne to be closer to his sisters where he lived an independent life, filling his quiet moments reading and enjoying nature. He was perfectly content sitting on the porch watching the squirrels and birds. He loved sharing meals with his family and surprising you with his quiet sense of humor. He enjoyed being of service to his family; picking up his nieces and nephews when they were little, taking care of our pets when we were away, and calling weekly to check-in on those he loved. Matthew had a huge heart and it showed.
Matthew is survived by his father, Theodore Oliver Branstetter; his step-mother, Judy Branstetter; his sisters, Cecilia Drennan, Cathy Menn, and Celeste Branstetter; his brothers-in-law, Kevin Drennan and Bryan Menn; his sister-in-law, Felice Garcia; his nephews and nieces, Colt Drennan, Casey Drennan, Jared Menn and Shelby Menn; his step-siblings, Teresa Brignole, Lisa Woolfolk, Jason Woolfolk, and Michael Woolfolk; and many cousins and friends who all loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann Branstetter; his step-mother, Sugie Branstetter; and his aunt, Patricia (Pat) Peterson-Kendrick.
The family would like to express their gratitude towards Meals on Wheels of Boerne who assisted Matthew in his daily independent living.
