We mourn the loss of Matthew James Summa, born June 23, 1995 and passed September 15, 2021 at his home in New Hartford, , also known as “Summa”, “Mattvey”, “Maffoo”, “Matty”, was a kind-hearted, caring, intelligent, and sensitive soul. Matt was loved and cherished by those he leaves behind including his father, Alfonse Summa, mother Elizabeth (Betsy) Dixon, brother Anthony Summa and his wife Catherine Summa, and sisters Natalie and Julia Summa. He also leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and his grandmother Julia is pre-deceased by his paternal grandfather, Duane Summa, maternal grandmother and grandfather, Catherine and Donald Black, uncle, Alfred (Skook) Roberts, and stepfather, Donald attended Northwestern Regional #7 for high school and spent one year at Central Connecticut State University studying business. He had many different jobs during his short life, such as working in carpentry, at restaurants, on a Christmas tree farm, summers at Farmington River Tubing, helping his father install windows, and he spent time as a lighting technician while attending college. There was nothing he would not at least try, as was his nature.Those who knew Matt will remember him as having many hobbies and passions. After spending time in Japan living with his brother, he developed a deep love and appreciation for Japanese culture and art. He loved music, hiking, sketching, cooking, and towards the end of his life was especially enamored with mixed martial arts. He enjoyed any time spent with family and friends and his sharp wit always kept everyone laughing and smiling. He was truly unique in life and the choices he made. He was honest, sincere, loving and giving.
